LARRY LAUVETZ, MA LPC

ABOUT:     Larry has worked in mental health since 1990 starting with Richard Young Behavioral Center for kids and adolescents. Larry came to Kansas City in 1992 and went to work at Kaw Valley Center for Children.  He worked as an adult case manager from 1993-1996 for Central Kansas City Mental Health.  Larry then began work with Mental Health Resources in August of 1996 and became a partner in 2000.  In 2007, Larry was named President at Mental Health Resources.

Larry was asked in 2005 to head up a children’s program and, along with two partners, he formed Willowbrook, Inc.  Both Mental Health Resources and Willowbrook are contract providers for Tri-County Mental Health services for children and adults in Ray, Platte and Clay Counties in Missouri.  Larry also worked as an addictions counselor, working with compulsive gamblers. Larry currently supervises 12 clinicians and see 10 individuals for counseling.

Larry graduated from Creighton Prep HS in 1987 – played baseball and football.  He graduated from Creighton university in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and played baseball for 2.5 yrs, while at Creighton.  Larry graduated from UMKC in 1996 with a Master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance.  He also coaching baseball in summer of 1991 (Omaha North JV baseball).  Larry coached his daughter Lauren in fastpitch softball from age 5 till 12 and taught her how to play golf as well.  Larry also coached his two sons, Caleb and Zach from 2003-2019 in baseball.  Larry currently carries a 13.5  handicap and is always trying to get better!
